fix: bring the release/6.5.0 user requirements (#5618) into next - #5913
Conversation
(cherry picked from commit e4de895) Adapted for next: next has no monolithic CmsEntryStorageOperations, so updateRevision becomes an UpdateRevisionStorageOperation abstraction with DdbUpdateRevision, DdbEsUpdateRevision and SqlUpdateRevision, each registered in its adapter's entry feature. pg-os reuses SqlUpdateRevision directly, like SQL's read operations. UpdateRevisionRepository uses that operation and stamps the runtime tenant, as the other CMS repositories on next do.
#5618 adds an updateRevision storage operation because, on 6.5.0, editing an older revision's note overwrote the latest revision's values. next doesn't have that bug: its UpdateEntryStorageOperation writes only the edited revision (plus its published record when it's published) and copies only entry-level meta fields onto the latest record. updateRevision would also skip the published record and the OpenSearch index, so a note edited on the published revision would go stale there. So revision notes keep going through UpdateEntryRepository, and the UpdateRevision feature, the storage operation and its DDB, DDB-ES, SQL and pg-os implementations are dropped again. The test from #5618 couldn't see the bug either way, because revision #2 is created from #1 and holds the same values. It now gives #2 its own values before editing #1's note. It passes on DynamoDB and SQL, and fails when an update of an older revision copies its values onto the latest record. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Suggested reviewers: Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The change adds revision publish, unpublish and note actions, plus timezone-aware date handling. Two small UI inaccuracies remain: an open draft can briefly show the wrong status after another revision is published, and the publish confirmation may show an empty title. Neither blocks a core workflow, so the change is mergeable, ideally after both are fixed. Security Architecture ReviewSecurity architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to The inspected revision actions retain server-side permission checks and tenant isolation. Published-revision deletion corrects stale live metadata. No introduced authorization bypass was established, but interrupted persistence and search synchronization remain incompletely covered. Pass the target revision to the publish dialog.
publishRevision sends { entry: { meta: { title: "" } } } to PUBLISH_REVISION_DIALOG. That dialog name has the same value as PUBLISH_ENTRY_DIALOG ("publish-entry"), and the form presenter sends it the real entry. If the shared dialog reads the entry title or ID, the revision-drawer publish confirmation shows an empty title. Pass the matching revision from this.revisions instead.

Only mark the open entry unpublished when it was the published revision.
After you publish another revision, the else if branch sets the open entry's status to "unpublished". Two cases are wrong:
- If the open entry is a draft, its status becomes
"unpublished". - If the open entry is an older, previously unpublished revision, the patch is harmless.
For a draft, the wrong status changes canSave and canCreateNewRevision in the form view model. Patch the open entry only when its current status is "published".

What
Ports backend item 8 from
release/6.5.0: #5618 (Bruno, "6.5.0 user requirements"), and with it #5862, which builds on #5618's DatePicker changes.#5618 is mostly admin UI:

What I left out, and why
On 6.5.0, editing an older revision's note went through the regular update and overwrote the latest revision's values, so #5618 added an
updateRevisionstorage operation that writes only the revision record.nextdoesn't have that bug. ItsUpdateEntryStorageOperationwrites only the edited revision, plus its published record when it's published, and copies only entry-level meta fields onto the latest record. I checked on DynamoDB and SQL withnext's previous code.updateRevisionwould also makenextslightly worse. It skips the published record and the OpenSearch index, so a note edited on the published revision would stay stale on those reads. So revision notes keep going throughUpdateEntryRepositoryonnext, and the second commit drops theUpdateRevisionfeature and the storage operation again. I had first ported it to all four adapters, includingpg-os, which 6.5.0 doesn't have. Worth a look on 6.5.0 itself: there, a note edited on the published revision stays stale on the published read and in the index. The
livefix is kept. On DynamoDB,next's previous code fails #5618'sdeletePublishedRevisiontest.Tests
