Browser / Version: Firefox 122.0
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.15
Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome
Problem type: Something else
Description: microphone quiet for 5-10 seconds in Google Meet, only on Firefox
Steps to Reproduce:
Whenever I join a Google Meet, for the first 5-10 seconds my audio is very quiet. On my side, I will hear an echo, and everyone else in the meeting almost can't hear me. The problem fixes itself within a couple of seconds, after which everything is normal.
I also have a Mac (14 inch MBPro M1 chip running Sonoma 14.3.1) with Firefox 122.0.1. (64-bit) where I don't have this problem. I have talked with our helpdesk team, but their only suggestion is switching to Chrome, because the problem doesn't occur there. That's not an acceptable solution to me because I stopped using Chrome for privacy and performance reasons.
The macbook I'm currently working on is new, I only had it for about a week or so. The problem has existed since day one. I found an old Bugzilla report from 2020 that seems to report the exact same issue: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1636614
