Language names instead of flags and flag postions

I'd prefer to have a scroll-down list with languages instead of the flags in order to make the website more neatly arranged and also to avoid confusion with flags. For instance, there'd be an option "Deutsch (German)" instead of the flag of Germany.

Original had: I noticed that when one changes the language, the position of the flags changes as well. Could this be fixed somehow? This was resolved in first comment.

Actually, they change with RTL languages, but not otherwise. The order of languages is set by the "Weight" in http://www.warmshowers.org/admin/settings/language - and you're welcome to adjust it if you think it can be improved. English should be first IMO.

I'm not opposed to a different presentation of the languages. We could also sense the language from the user's browser. But the subdomain approach we're currently using seems to be the best as far as Drupal's normal capabilities are concerned.

@CyrilWendl It looke like you might have meant this issue to be about a different presentation for the languages. If that's the case, please edit the original and reopen. I'm open to a different presentation. We went to the flags because it's important for it not to take up an enormous amount of space. However, I don't consider the flags the best way to do it.

@rfay Exactly, that's what I meant. I meant that instead of the flags, there could be for instance a scroll-down list showing the languages available.

At some point somebody will have to make a specific proposal about what we'd do though.
