Description
Hello Void!
Pretty neat and fast image viewer.
Please consider adding support for any of the following features I consider essential for a photography viewer:
- Support for other high quality formats like JPEG XL, HEIF, and AVIF.
- Support for Animated PNG (.png .apng)
- Possibly consider support for RAW formats like Sony (.arw), Nikon (.nef), Canon (.cr2) and Adobe DNG.
- Other possibly useful formats (but not absolutely necessary for a viewer): Paint.NET (.pdn) PhotoDemon (.pdi),
Photoshop (.psd), OpenRaster (.ora), QuiteOK (.qoi), Jpeg XR (.jxr), SVG (.svg), Icons (.ico .xpm .icl).. etc..
One way to to add support for other formats could possibly be to allow the use of Windows Image Converter (WIC)
but I understand completely if this goes beyond the scope of this program. - Please consider adding support for middle click actions, possibly by default to toggle fullscreen.
- Also support to show custom captions to a position on the image (I tend to use top left), in order to show meta data
like image name, description, size, dimensions, mod date, and possibly other exif metadata.

7. Last but not least, please consider adding support for "Open With" and "Actions" context menus with
support for custom hotkeys. Both could be pretty much the same concept and format, but with the idea
of one to set up programs and the other for "Actions" to set up custom actions over the current image or folder,
for example: resize and convert operations, image effects, etc.. (I tend to use ImageMagic and NConvert).
If this is at one point considered I think it would be useful to evaluate the way JPEGView implements it, allowing
the use of preprogrammed directives (NoWindow, WaitForTerminate, ShellExecute, ReloadCurrent, MoveToNext, etc),
custom hotkeys, and environment vars.
To give an example, these are the context menus/hotkeys I've currently set up in JPEGView:
JPEGView seems to be pretty much abandoned since 2018, besides a few updates on the forked GitHub project
(mostly support for newer formats like JPEG XL, HEIC, AVIF, QuiteOK and EXIF reading).
I think a new quick image viewer is needed, and this tool seems like a great candidate.
I just thought I'd give my opinion, but I understand if any or all these feature fall outside of the scope of the program.
Best regards!
