Why the program when starting without arguments shows a list of ALL files? How often do users need that?

This is a very bad behavior by default. It is better to show a help.

1.1.0.33 will now show help when no arguments are supplied, no export type is saved and output is sent to the console.

This can be disabled with -no-help-on-no-args

Running "es" is fine - it shows help.
Running "es>es_help.txt" gives complete file list.

How about outputing of the full list of files only when the user explicitly requests it through "es *"?

I know users who have scripts calling es > out.txt
If you want to export help to a text file, use es -help > help.txt

They calling literally "es > out.txt" to get whole file list or they adding some search word like "es something > out.txt"?

Such behaviour switching (different console and redirect output) is unexpected.

Yes, different behavior and might be unexpected.
But:

1. I would rather the end-user have a full dump of the index in the txt file rather than the help text. -having existing users make a daily backup of the help text wouldn't be ideal. -safer to rectify later if the user doesn't notice the expected output immediately.
2. I assume the user knows what they are doing if they redirect output.
3. I don't expect the user to redirect the help text.
