This repository contains the core logic for the GaiaCom Protocol, a decentralized, post-quantum secure communication infrastructure designed to replace SMTP and centralized messaging silos.
WARNING: Code in this repository is experimental. While the cryptographic primitives (Kyber/X25519) are standard, the implementation is under active audit. Do not use for mission-critical operations yet.
- THE MISSION: KILLING SMTP
Email (SMTP) is a relic from the 1980s. It is unencrypted by default, metadata-heavy, and relies on central authorities. GaiaCom is the Sovereign Alternative.
No Central Server: Nodes are federated.
No Metadata Leaks: Traffic shaping and onion-routing logic.
No "God Mode": No administrator can read messages or ban users globally.
- DEFENSE ARCHITECTURE
We utilize a Hybrid Cryptographic Scheme to ensure security against both current threats and future quantum decryption.
The Stack
Key Exchange (Classic): X25519 (Elliptic Curve)
Purpose: High-speed, proven security against conventional computers.
Key Exchange (PQC): ML-KEM-1024 (Kyber)
Purpose: NIST Level 5. Protection against "Store Now, Decrypt Later" quantum attacks.
Transport: Noise Protocol Framework
Purpose: Metadata obfuscation and forward secrecy.
Storage: IPFS / Distributed Hash Table
Purpose: Encrypted blobs stored redundantly across the mesh.
- LICENSING & GOVERNANCE (THE GLASS FORTRESS)
GaiaCom operates under a strict Dual-Licensing Model to guarantee both freedom and sustainability.
🟢 The Core (Community Edition)
License: GNU AGPLv3
Scope: The Node Server logic, routing, and basic storage.
Philosophy: "Code is Law." Free for anyone to host, audit, and improve.
Constraint: If you run this as a service (SaaS), you MUST open-source your modifications. No stealing by Cloud Giants.
🟢 The Client (App)
License: GPLv3
Scope: Desktop & Mobile Clients.
Philosophy: "Verifiable Security." User-side encryption must be transparent.
🔒 The Enterprise Modules (Commercial)
License: Proprietary / Commercial EULA
Scope: LDAP/AD Integration, Compliance Logging, High-Availability Clustering, Godmode Admin Panels.
Provider: VisionGaia Technology GmbH
Note: These modules are not in this repository. They are provided as binary plugins for licensed partners (Government/Corporate).

- CONTRIBUTION GUIDELINES
We accept pull requests, but the bar is high.
GPG Signing: All commits must be GPG signed. Unsigned commits are rejected by the CI/CD pipeline immediately.
No External Analytics: Do not submit code that calls home, tracks users, or loads external scripts.
Tests: Every PR must include unit tests covering the new logic.
Security Vulnerabilities: Do NOT open a GitHub Issue for critical exploits. Contact us via encrypted channels at security@visiongaiatechnology.de (PGP Key available on website).
