Installation Guide

Follow these instructions to install ChatGPT Desktop (VTS Edition) on your preferred Linux distribution.

🟢 Debian / Ubuntu (.deb)

sudo apt install ./chatgpt-desktop-deb.deb
# Then launch via: Super → "ChatGPT Desktop"

💡 You can also right-click the downloaded .deb file and install it via your software center.

🔵 Fedora / RHEL (.rpm)

sudo dnf install ./chatgpt-desktop-1.0-1.x86_64.rpm
# Launch from Activities or Application Menu

🟣 AppImage (Portable)

chmod +x ChatGPT_Desktop-x86_64.AppImage
./ChatGPT_Desktop-x86_64.AppImage

🟪 No root required. Simply make the file executable and run it.

💡 System Requirements

• Linux x86_64 (64-bit)
• Chrome / Chromium / Brave installed
• GTK+3 and WebKit2GTK runtime libraries

To install dependencies manually (Debian/Ubuntu):

sudo apt install libgtk-3-0 libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0

✅ Optional (Add to Favorites)

After installation, open your system’s application menu → right-click ChatGPT Desktop → “Add to Favorites”.

To launch from the terminal:

chatgpt-desktop
