current volume controls look like a bug - how to place volume controls vertical instead of horizontal?

We are currently using video js 5.0 pre release candidate version - it has the volume controls as vertical. When I examine 5.0 it has the volume controls horizontal, running under the scrubber. One person here in UX commented that it looks like a bug - ie the main control disappearing and the other controls reappearing, etc. Is there a quick way to set this back to vertical? And, as another post asked - is there a way to show the total time with the elapsed time? Or does this have to be customized, etc?

Are you using the 4.0 series of docs? Is there a new set of docs for 5.0?

The horizontal sound slider is a big issue for us - many people do not like it and many of our users are young students who may get confused by it.

There is (or used to be). The vertical popup styles were broken at some point, working on fixing it today.

@gkiely @richardbushell Playing a bit of whack-a-mole, unfortunately. I was hoping for a quicker fix, but banging around fixing this broke other menus (or inline). Luckily I've got some long flights coming up for the holidays...

Started from scratch and it turned out to be stupid simple. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ #2859 should fix this one.

Nothing should be disappearing at all...mind elaborating on what you mean there? By default, hovering over the volume menu button should expand the control to show the volume control, but nothing should disappear at that point (until the volume control when you mouse off the menu button).

Looks like it requires both vertical and inline. This is right, @mmcc?

Just inline false is sufficient in my tests, as inline sets vertical automatically.
Vertical is hard-wired in volume-menu-button.js L31-34:
