[1.2.3] can not find module 'next' when run `node server.js`

as i see i document, custom server is ready in 1.2.3
this my server.js

const { createServer } = require('http');
const { parse } = require('url');
const next = require('next');

const app = next({ dev: true })
const handle = app.getRequestHandler()

app.prepare().then(() => {
  createServer((req, res) => {
    const { pathname, query } = parse(req.url, true)

    if (pathname === '/a') {
      app.render(req, res, '/b', query)
    } else if (pathname === '/b') {
      app.render(req, res, '/a', query)
    } else {
      handle(req, res)
    }
  })
  .listen(3000, (err) => {
    if (err) throw err

may be miss something ?

Custom server is not ready in 1.2.3. Please use 2.0.0-beta.0 if you'd like to try it now.
