Case
The client for this assignment is the Dutch daily newspaper 'De Volkskrant' which has been around for a little over 100 years. De Volkskrant is originally a Roman Catholic newspaper but due to the de-silencing in the 1960s it has been transformed into a newspaper for everyone (Source1). The newspaper reaches people through a physical and digital version and is in the top 3 most read newspapers in the Netherlands (Source2, Source3).
De Volkskrant would like data visualizations to be made on the theme 'Cars in the city'. It is mainly about how different municipalities / places deal with these cars in the city. De Volkskrant wants to be able to use the data visualizations to visually support news articles.
To create the data visualizations, de Volkskrant has provided several datasets of the RDW in order to be able to analyse and clean them up.
An interactive website (no responsive website) will be delivered where a story is visualized using data.
To create this website, a front-end framework and the library D3 will be used. During this course, research will be conducted into different frameworks.
