this wretched app haha was a 2 second change in gis-ops/openstreetmap-website#2, here I can't do it in github UI. if you have a minute @chrstnbwnkl , you'd be tons faster with this.

Hi @nilsnolde,
I was going through this issue and the related discussion in #4419 about pedestrians being unable to leave sidewalks.
Correct behavior:
Sidewalk → cross street → park → sidewalk
Buggy behavior:
Sidewalk → forced to stay on sidewalk → long detour
I’d like to understand whether this issue is still relevant or if it has already been addressed elsewhere. If not, I would be happy to investigate the routing logic around pedestrian sidewalk restrictions and see if I can propose a fix.
Please let me know if this would still be useful.
