@vacterro vacterro released this 04 Oct 21:03

FastPrompter v0.8.72 — portable single-file EXE for Windows.

  • Pack Silo structured AI-ingestion and bundle engine: export and package silos into self-contained archives with portable Markdown, deterministic requirements (silo.index.json), reverse media mapping, and structured manifests. Supports content-identical smart reuse, history retention pruning, and atomic publication.
  • Pack Silo hotkeys & gesture controls: hover on the Pack header control reveals all available hotkeys and gestures (Shift+Click options dialog, Ctrl+Click force repack, Alt+Click open folder, Ctrl+Shift+Click copy last bundle to clipboard).
  • Hotkey discoverability & tooltips: header buttons and project tabs show hotkey hints (F1–F12, etc.) for quick muscle memory without consulting help.
  • Comprehensive 33-locale translation reconciliation: 100% coverage across all 33 supported language lanes (1,971 canonical keys), full UI surface parity.
  • Single quit authority and robust shutdown: streamlined pre-exit logical finalization, thread-safe timer shutdowns, and rock-solid IPC handoff.

data/ folder next to the EXE.

Highlights

Runtime and audio survivability

  • Long-session audio survivability: backend/device recovery, stale-playback
prevention, degraded fallback ownership, and STOP ALL race protection.
  • Graceful shutdown on window close (WM_CLOSE) and a robust onefile startup
path used by the packaged release probe.

AI limits, quotas and reset times

  • Claude's five-hour bucket is shown with its vendor name ("Session") instead
of a hard-coded "5h", so a reset beyond five hours reads truthfully.
  • Quota reset times are parsed as absolute instants: named IANA zones are
interpreted with bundled tzdata, omitted-year timestamps roll forward
correctly, and millisecond/ISO reset shapes are understood.
  • Codex probe timestamps are UTC epochs, so reset times no longer shift
    across DST boundaries.

Local time correctness

  • The launcher removes an inherited TZ override before the first clock use,
so the topbar and every scheduler follow Windows local time, not a wrapper
    environment variable.

Interface and workflow

  • AI Limits: hold Shift while hovering to inspect every discovered account,
including accounts hidden from the normal view.
  • Silo Chest: drag/reorder, file-to-folder movement, Shift quick-move and
full-chest safety; chest interactions follow familiar Minecraft-style rules.
  • Reset queue card: one structured row per account/pool/window with the
    complete chronological queue.
  • Freebuff: total balance badge, date emoji/default reconciliation, and live
    Settings retranslation.
  • Trash dialog crash on toggle repaired.
  • Image workflow fixes.

Notes

  • Release provenance is machine-checked: the EXE is built from the exact
tagged commit and the release is published draft-first with a verified
    installer-free asset.

@vacterro vacterro released this 26 Aug 18:16

FastPrompter v0.8.58 — portable single-file EXE for Windows.

Download \FastPrompter.exe, run it, press \Alt+X. No install, no Python, no admin rights; your data lives in a \data/\ folder next to the EXE.

What changed:

  • Productivity tab taller — the Phase Completion Sounds group now fits (640x480, min 560x380).
  • No more white borders/lines — QGroupBox and QTabWidget panes are themed across all 9 themes instead of Qt's default near-white outlines.
  • Pomodoro Test buttons simulate the real notification — sound plus the tray popup (Work phase over / Break over), exactly as a real phase completion looks.
  • Locale JSONs refreshed with 52 new i18n keys (interval notifications + pomodoro sounds).

Fixed: pasting could freeze the whole window for a minute and a half.

When you paste a short single line, FastPrompter checks whether it happens to be
a file path, so it can turn it into a clickable link. That check was made
straight on the UI thread with no time limit. Paste a Windows network path
whose server is not answering — a share from the office, a NAS that is asleep,
anything reached over a VPN that is down — and Windows sits in that check while
it waits for the connection to time out. Measured here: 93 seconds with the
window completely frozen and "Not Responding" in the title bar. That is what
"the app crashes when I paste text" looked like.

The check is now given a quarter of a second. If the filesystem cannot answer in
that time the paste simply inserts your text as text, which is what you wanted
anyway. Local paths are unaffected — they answer instantly.

Also fixed: "Reveal in folder" (Ctrl+right-click a file link) waited for Explorer
to exit before the window would respond again. It no longer waits.

Under the hood: the test suite could never be run as a single command — eight
of its files died at collection because four unit tests replaced PyQt6 with a
mock and never put it back. That is fixed, and the suite now runs whole (1500+
tests in one process), which is how the paste bug's neighbours were found.
