Thank you for this. I did not know about dev.dirs. At this point I'd rather keep the private directory local to the where more-speech is run. I realize this is not a good long-term solution; but for the time being it is convenient to be able to start up more-speech in two or three different directories that have their own configurations. |

It definitely would be nice to persist the user data in the standard location for each OS. Perhaps there could be a switch (defaulted to off) that would enable this feature. This developers and @unclebob could run it in different directories with different configurations, but people (or semi-official builds) could use the standard platform directories as well. |
