Cannot open Typst web app on iPad, crashing in Chrome, loading forever in Safari

Description

iPadOS 17.7.3, this happens when loading a decently sized project (20 pages) in read-only mode. I wanted to use the iPad just as an additional screen where I see the compiled document while I type on my laptop.

On Chrome, memory warnings by Typst are shown (370 MB, next time trying: 25 MB), before displaying a notice that the Typst compiler has crashed.

On Safari, no warnings, no crash notice, just a forever-loading icon.
