I'm curious about the possibility of including a pitch effect in the app to detune a guitar without using a drop/pitch pedal.

This is not possible, as already requested and replied by the developer. In the app can only control the amp and its existing functionality. Any new effects would have to be implemented in the amp firmware, not in the control software.
