The library includes comprehensive readability analysis for all books using 6 industry-standard classic readability formulas (1940s-1970s era). These time-tested metrics provide reliable, interpretable assessments that correlate well with human readability judgments.
- Flesch Reading Ease (1948): 0-100 scale, higher scores indicate easier reading
- Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level (1975): Years of education needed to understand the text
- Gunning Fog Index (1952): Formal education years required for comprehension
- SMOG Index (1969): Simple Measure of Gobbledygook for grade-level estimation
- Automated Readability Index (1967): Character-based readability metric
- Coleman-Liau Index (1975): Alternative character-based assessment

- Flesch Reading Ease: Target 60-70 (current: 0.5) - standard level for general audiences
- Grade Level Metrics: Target 12-16 years (current: 22+ years) - high school to college level
