I often tweak my chewy indexes on fairly large (2.5m row) ActiveRecord database tables. Running rake chewy:reset works, but often takes more than an hour and there's no indication of progress while the imports are taking place.

Also, I'm also in an unreliable SSH session while this is taking place--the socket tends to hang up after such a long period of no activity. It'd be nice to show a progress bar, percentage complete, or an ETA while a long import is taking place.

Is this something that'd be easy to implement? I can take a look at doing it myself.

just for you to know (regarding the ssh problem), there is a command called screen, which launches like a paralell console inside the host and lets you logout and keep it running still.

I support your request though

Yeah, it will be fairly easy to implement I think. If you can do it - you are welcome. Just maybe it makes sense to make it optional.

+1.

I see there was a PR for this but it was closed. Not clear on why.

I'm sorry to bury this thing from so long ago, but I don't get it to work. Ive tried

PROGRESS=true rake chewy:parallel:reset

############################################################
WARN: You are risking to lose some changes during the reset.
      Please consider enabling journaling.
      See https://github.com/toptal/chewy#journaling
############################################################
Resetting ResponsesIndex
  Imported ResponsesIndex in 20s, stats: index 22869
  Imported Chewy::Stash::Specification in 1s, stats: index 1
....

(no progress)

and

export PROGRESS=true
rake chewy:parallel:reset

(no progress either)

What am I doing wrong? :/
