A JavaScript implementation of the Cahill–Concialdi Bat map projection
Uses proj4.js to convert xy values to latlng. Enables batch processing via CSV file input.
Coursework for [Map Projection and Transformation] (2018Spring)
A compromise map projection made by Constantin-Ciprian Stanescu on December 25, 2025
GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell scripts drawing a world geological-features map: hotspots, mid-ocean ridges, transform faults, subduction trenches, ophiolites, volcanoes and Large Igneous Provinces on an Eckert equal-area projection centred on the Pacific, with a legend.
GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell scripts mapping ETOPO1 bathymetry of the Mariana Trench in three contrasting map projections: Cassini transverse cylindrical (-JC), Cylindrical Equal-Area Gall-Peters (-JY) and Polyconic (-JPoly), with colour scale, contours, toponymy and geometric-shape annotation.
GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell scripts demonstrating coastline-based raster clipping (pscoast clip paths) to render a colour geoid over the ocean and gray-shaded relief over masked land, for the Kuril-Kamchatka and Mariana Trenches.
Drag a country around a Mercator map and see its true size. Flip to Equal Earth, the projection the UN endorsed 164–1.
Convert geo types between geodesic degrees and cartesian meters using Oblique Mercator.
Plot longitude and latitude points on a styled Peirce quincuncial world map and export it as PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF.
GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell scripts producing bathymetric contour (isobath) maps of ocean trenches from ETOPO relief, with annotated index contours on an Albers equal-area conic projection and study-area outlines.
Create custom-shaped world map projections from conceptual prompts. Inspired by Richard Edes Harrison's 1940 Fortune magazine oil-drop projection.
GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell script drawing a global tectonic map: plate boundaries (PB2002) with rotation poles and boundary steps, GSFML seafloor fabric (fracture zones, magnetic lineation picks) and subducting-slab depth contours, on an Eckert IV equal-area projection centred on the Pacific.
Interactive map that reveals how flat projections distort our planet. Drag any country across the globe to see its true size, measure real great-circle distances, and switch projections to watch distortion appear and vanish. Free & open source.
GDAL command-line shell scripts for geospatial raster processing: reprojecting and warping grids between coordinate reference systems and map projections (gdalwarp), format conversion between NetCDF, GeoTIFF and binary (gdal_translate), and raster metadata inspection (gdalinfo).
Collection of ~180 GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell scripts producing shaded-relief topographic and bathymetric maps of countries and regions worldwide from global DEMs (ETOPO1, GEBCO, SRTM, GLOBE), with DCW country clipping, custom CPTs, contours and cartographic layout.
GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell scripts mapping total marine sediment thickness from the NOAA/NGDC GlobSed grid over ocean basins, seas and trenches, with turbo colour-shaded grids, isopach contours, coastlines and cartographic layout.
Over 70 GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell scripts mapping marine free-air and Bouguer gravity anomalies from the Sandwell/Smith satellite-altimetry gravity grid (CryoSat-2, Jason-1) over countries, seas and ocean trenches, with colour-shaded grids, curvature/vertical-gradient variants and cartographic layout.
Over 80 GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell scripts mapping TerraClimate climate variables per country (temperature extremes, precipitation, PDSI drought index, soil moisture, PET/AET, runoff, shortwave radiation, snow-water equivalent, vapour pressure/deficit, wind) from NetCDF grids, with DCW country clipping, contours and cartographic layout.
GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) shell script building a land/water mask grid from GSHHG shorelines with grdlandmask (land = 1, ocean = NaN) and rendering it over an ETOPO1 relief basemap for the Kuril-Kamchatka Trench area.
