fix(server): prefer origin for repository identity #155
What Prefer origin over upstream when resolving a project's repository identity. Why Fork projects currently resolve to the upstream repository instead of their own origin. So what PR #156 is delivered with passing proof and independent review; merging remains a human decision.
Outcome: select origin first, upstream second, preserving remaining fallback order. Supports the Objective by attaching Promachos and Drafter work to the fork project's repository.
Acceptance: change the preference tuple; update mixed-remotes coverage; add upstream-only fallback coverage; document PR/Issue dependency impact and cache limits; pass resolver tests, targeted server typecheck/lint and independent exact-head review.
Non-goals: consumer or cache changes, versions, UI, merge, installation, live services or browsers.
Blockers: none identified.
Proof: exact-head targeted tests, server typecheck and lint passed; independent review passed and source CI is green. See durable handoff below.
Requirements and who asked: User requested origin-first identity, unchanged fallback, tests, dependency assessment and one PR. Deleted: No configuration, abstractions, consumer edits, version bump or fork metadata changes needed. Bottleneck: The preference tuple owns this decision; targeted proof and exact-head independent review gate delivery. Checked myself: Clean main 187b86d matches fetched origin/main; resolver files already have fork ownership/allowlisting; source selects upstream first.
Proof: pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/project/RepositoryIdentityResolver.test.ts, exit 0, 12 passed. Updated test before implementation: exit 1, 2 mixed-remotes failures and 10 passed.
Proof: pnpm exec vp run --filter t3 typecheck, exit 0, Effect suggestions only elsewhere; pnpm exec vp lint apps/server/src/project/RepositoryIdentityResolver.ts apps/server/src/project/RepositoryIdentityResolver.test.ts, exit 0; git diff --check, exit 0. Commit formatting left tested diff unchanged, confirmed by cmp.
Local scratch outputs for parent inspection: /tmp/chromeria-origin-identity/{test-before.txt,test-after.txt,typecheck.txt,lint.txt,install.txt,committed.diff}. Durable result and source assessment are retained in this Issue and PR; scratch is outside checkout.
Dependency assessment is in the PR with exact-head source links: default PR and Issue enumeration/branch links follow origin; hostless PR references validate against own identity; explicitly hosted PR references keep explicit routing; stored Issue links keep their explicit keys. Positive identity TTL remains 15 minutes, negative one minute, explicit refresh invalidates both caches; no stored-link migration or immediate snapshot refresh added.
Review: success with no actionable findings on exact head; reviewer thread sub.sub.sub.sub.6bae21a9-dc77-4414-9995-17f7b13d32a1.dispatcher-5ab12f02d71e.dispatcher-7898dbd549f6.dispatcher-495ba223e483.reviewer-9d17906599a8, routed to GPT-6-Luna on Codex by Prism. review/independent success on exact head, created by lukemaj at 2026-10-04T19:48:32Z after publishing findings: fix(server): prefer origin for repository identity #156 (comment).
Delivery: implemented, targeted proof passed, committed and pushed, PR open; independent review passed, source CI checks passed, Agent Observer publication succeeded with incomplete attribution as recorded below. No version bump by explicit instruction. Website impact none.
Authority: one Issue/worktree/code/proof/commit/push/PR authorized. Merge, install, browsers and live services excluded. Keep worktree for parent verification; no task resources retired yet.
Remaining: human merge decision only. Parent independently verified exact two-file diff, PR body and raw test/typecheck/lint outputs with no concerns. Worktree retained for inspection; no merge or installation performed. No implementation blockers.
Agent Observer publication succeeded: #156 (comment). Both sync and publish --task toolboxmd/chromeria#155 --repo toolboxmd/chromeria --pr 156 exited 0. Local raw outputs: /tmp/chromeria-origin-identity/observer-sync.txt and observer-publish.txt.
Measurement gap: estimated cost unknown, 0 attributed responses, evidence incomplete, native session usage/worker ownership unavailable. This is successful publication with incomplete measurement, not zero usage or a publication failure. Parent independently inspected final exact diff and raw resolver test/typecheck/lint outputs.
Final proof evidence: newest-first GitHub statuses endpoint confirms exact-head review/independent success by lukemaj, target findings URL above. Source CI Check, Test, Server 1/2/3, Fork Stack Model and other non-skipped jobs passed. Local output paths include /tmp/chromeria-origin-identity/ci-checks.txt, review-status.json, pr-comments.json, test-before.txt, test-after.txt, typecheck.txt, lint.txt, install.txt, observer-sync.txt, observer-publish.txt, final.diff, and committed.diff. Source CI: https://github.com/toolboxmd/chromeria/actions/runs/37229266879. The final diff remains two files, +28/-8, exactly matching tested output; no version or metadata edits.
Final parent acceptance: actual exact diff, raw proof outputs, live exact-head independent success by lukemaj, all CI checks, clean worktree and PR registration independently verified. Reviewer completed with no actionable findings and its thread was retired. PR and Issue pending wording replaced with current delivery state.
