Tuition Tool

College affordability simulator MVP with:

/backend: FastAPI, SQLAlchemy 2.0, SQLite, YAML estimate fixtures, deterministic calculators, pytest.
/frontend: Next.js static-export client, browser recent-session metadata, dashboard and guided entry flow.

Run locally:

npm install
npm run dev

This starts FastAPI at http://127.0.0.1:8000 and Next.js at http://127.0.0.1:3000.

Docker alternative:

docker compose up --build

Backend only:

cd backend
poetry install
poetry run uvicorn app.main:app --reload
poetry run pytest

Frontend only:

cd frontend
npm install
npm run dev
npm run build
npm run test
