Issue with span for geom_smooth() on ggplot2 v3.1.0.9000

Hello,

I too am having issues with the span option of geom_smooth()

I've tried installing the older version, no dice

My data does default to gam, and have also tried setting the method to loess. Still no difference

I can't seem to replicate this. It is possible that when using a large dataset (like one that would default to method = "gam"), changing the span parameter might not change the smooth that much, even when setting method = "loess".

  geom_smooth(method = "loess", span = 0.75, col = "red") +
  geom_smooth(method = "loess", span = 10, col = "blue") +
  geom_smooth(method = "loess", span = 0.3, col = "purple")

Yes, I have about 3000 data points. I figured out a way around it and took a different path, but will update if I encounter an issue again.
