The issue seemed to be that the podfile in our iOS-Workspace repo did
not align with the podfile in this repo. But after updating our
iOS-Workspace podfile, and running pod install, the issue goes away.

Note: The issue was also present in our ObjC demo app so I included that
fix in this PR too.
