Checklist

  • I have used the search function to see if someone else has already submitted the same bug report.
  • I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.

App

Thunderbird for Android

App version

14.0

Where did you get the app from?

F-Droid

Android version

14 (Xiaomi MiUI)

Device model

No idea

Steps to reproduce

  1. Change the email password of your provider
  2. Change the password in thunderbird desktop under the very hidden settings
  3. Use TB Android, add an account using the QR code scan import method
  4. Try sending an email, an error should show that the password is wrong
  5. Change the password in that popup to the new one

Expected behavior

The existing account should be changed to use the new password

Actual behavior

Without the user noticing, there are now 2 accounts for the same email. When trying to do any action on an email (delete, swipe left, swipe right, select), Thunderbird crashes.

Opening the settings reveals that there are 2 accounts for the same email.

Logs

I was not able to get logs as this Xiaomi thing blocks the adb command needed to enable LogFox.

Could try reproducing on a normal OS but the reason should be clear.
