Stops playing when running in background #116
Comments
Ah! I'm sorry for that. I suspect Chrome is changing their extensions policy (maybe in June?), by removing "background" extensions capability. Unfortunately I don't know yet how to consume the audio feed with a web workers… I'm off for vacations so I won't be able to fix it for now. Firefox does not trigger this issue though. |
Bad news, Firefox is now reproducing this behavior. (since 106.0.1 at minima) I've been using the extension almost everyday for years.... what am i gonna do... i cant live without fip ^^ |
i tried to change the param "extensions.backgroundServiceWorker.enabled" to true in |
Yeah, same thing here :-( The extension runs as a "background extension", so it's not even a background "Service Worker" (new format of extensions). I have no idea how to stream audio from within a ServiceWorker: Chrome states it is impossible for now. Maybe by opening a pinned tab as a workaround?… |

How can I be of help here? |
Hi Thomas! ciao |
The plugin stops playing audio after about 15 seconds when it is running in the background. Seems like other users are also reporting this in the extension's review page.
