Incorrect hover styles for selected root node in left navigation treeview

Describe the bug
When hovering the selected page in the Left navigation treeview, the hover styles are not applied to the whole node, but only to the text element of the node.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/aspnet-ajax/introduction
2. Hover over Introduction
3. See the hover styles applied only to the text, not the whole node

Expected behavior
Hover over Getting Started for reference of a good hover effect

1. selector should be .side-nav .k-state-selected:hover

.side-nav .k-state-selected a:hover {
    background-color: #f2f8ff;
}

2. selector should be increased to get this style applied (a color with !important should be refactored)

.side-nav .k-state-selected {
    color: #27A306;
}

Currently the green color of selected item is overwritten by
