Preseed: partman-auto/expert_recipe not respected

I recently played around with preseeding myself and took the tpot preseed as a base.

From my trials I found out, that the expert_recipe doesn't seem to get respected/executed during the preseed

Here is disk layout from a tpot install (it is the same layout as the atomic recipe):

In my own preseed file, I removed the line above the expert_recipe, where the atomic recipe is selected, as it seems to override the expert_recipe.
So this line should be removed: https://github.com/telekom-security/tpotce/blob/master/iso/preseed/tpot.seed#L42
When I did that the expert_recipe was executed.

Didn't test it (aka build a new tpot iso) yet though :)

Can anyone confirm this behaviour?

Hmm ok I just retested on a physical server and there it takes the expert_recipe even if the atomic line is present.
Before I tested on Proxmox, so it seems that this is just a Proxmox specific behaviour.

Oh wow, I missed that the used expert_recipe has the minimum disk space set to 40960 (40GB).
I previously tested on Proxmox with a smaller disk (32GB) and then the recipe fails and uses the atomic as default.
Mystery solved.
