Quick Capture to Daily Note error when file already exists

When using the "Sync with Daily Notes plugin" button to have quick capture tasks added to daily note the "Daily note folder" ends its path with a / (slash), this slash at the end causes the quick capture to fail when the daily note already exists. You can see it in the error message that it tries to access the path with 2 / before the note file. Removing the trailing / from the "Daily note folder" setting fixes the issue.

It seems there is still an issue here – at least for me. When I sync'd my daily note settings my daily note folder was accurately identified as /Today. While the first task will append to the daily note, all subsequent tasks fail with the error Failed to save: Error: File already exists.

Upon creating a new obsidian database, the function seems to work as expected.
