It would be great to use SOURCE 2017 as an opportunity to move past cubes and spheres. They're great fun, don't get me wrong, but I think there might be more to games than platonic solids and primary colors? Examples of Arcadia that aren't glitchy or geometrically basic would be good for the portfolio, as well.

Simple People

There's a collection of visually consistent assets on the asset store that Jane and I used for Handvaska. Not expensive and easy to work with.

Voxels

Easier to draw than 3D geometry, but are still 3D objects as far as the scene-graph is concerned. Their subparts can be individually named, rotated, scaled, etc, and I think they look quite nice when lit with realistic lighting.

Workflow is MagicaVoxel + Qubicle.
