bash: tailscale.sh: No such file or directory

First off -- apologies, I'm very new to Linux so this is probably (well, hopefully) really simple and I've missed something obvious to more experienced users.

Anyway I cloned the repository to /home/deck with the git clone command, then immediately went on to step 2, sudo bash tailscale.sh, and got the error in the title. Any guidance on how I can troubleshoot this? Apologies, please talk to me like I'm five as I'm very new and often don't understand the responses people give me when I have Linux issues. 😅

Thank you for your time and thank you for making this tool! I want to use it to play games on my home server when I'm away at university, if my internet connection will allow.

You'll need to also run cd deck-tailscale to get into the directory you cloned. I don't like that the readme makes this assumption, so I'll update it.

An additional question -- I'm now hitting a wall at the QR code part, is there a package I need to install to get that to run?

It should print the qr code to the terminal without issue, make sure the terminal window is large enough. If you still can't get that working, run tailscale up without the --qr part and it will print a login.tailscale.com link which you can visit on the decks browser or type manually onto another device

Still no luck with either of the commands; the error says "sudo: tailscale: command not found." Have tried within deck-tailscale folder and at home.

I also tried changing user= to my deck's device name in case that was the issue, still no luck.

I double checked Tailscale was installed and it definitely is, and "up" is on the list of commands when I typed in tailscale --help so not sure what's going on there. 🤨I feel like this must be user error of some kind but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hello, in case you haven't resolved it yet. Here is the solution I attached: I ran "sudo -i" before the third step and entered the password to enter superuser mode, then entered the command for the third step (but without sudo). Then you will see the QR code.

Thanks so much for this response - it didn't work for the QR code but it DID work for the Tailscale up command on its own, so I'm up and running now! Cheers
