   @elrnv Do you happen to know if the XML-like parts of VTU files are guaranteed to be UTF-8-compatible (obviously the embedded blobs are not).

   Sadly, I can't remember. If I were to guess I would say yes, but it's just a guess. I would rely on the example VTU files for testing. If not, a partial implementation would still already be helpful in my opinion.
