Checkout Recommendation for Trainee #1454
Comments
Typically want to introduce essential material and practice it. "more" could be added to as something to try if time allows. |
Yes, I understand.
Let me shift gears to a different topic please. That is my email address.
This UVA email account is an old account and I just happened to stumble on this.
My primary email---as listed in AMY---is ***@***.***
I just entered a secondary email: ***@***.***
Please see attached screen capture.
So I'm ignorant of how Software Carpentries is using this old email: ***@***.***
I'm sure I did something wrong. I just want to know how to change it so that new emails come to ***@***.*** (as in AMY).
Can you tell me please?
Thanks a lot for your help.
chris

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your message. You have two email addresses listed in
AMY, and they are listed as you have indicated:
* Primary email ***@***.*** [1]
* Secondary email ***@***.*** [2]
It seems that the conversation was happening through GitHub. Could be
that your email address in GitHub is listed as ***@***.***

Best,

There is no point adding content about "more" as it is simply the predecessor to "less." There is almost no reason to use "more" and I would argue never a good reason to use "more." |
How could the content be improved?
episode 4, Pipes and Filters
Which part of the content does your suggestion apply to?
It is this page: https://swcarpentry.github.io/shell-novice/04-pipefilter.html
the UNIX command cat is introduced. Very useful. I suggest that you consider also introducing "more" and "less" in this same episode: useful for longer files. Further, I see "less" is identified as a try-it-on-your-own box, but "more" is not there.
@cckuhlman please update if this is inaccurate
