What and why
A live Image Trace keeps its hidden source bitmap for retracing and Release. Result-mode editing bounds and selection highlights now measure the vector result rather than that retained bitmap. Source-image views continue to measure the bitmap, and ordinary hidden group members retain their existing bounds behavior.
How it was tested
cargo xtask cigates pass on2df5455691183b61ae88eaf4668e026581bc7a20: 8,572 passed, 0 failed, 13 ignored.Paired release CLI measurements use 50,000 synthetic paths and four raster/Rayon threads, with two executions per build in ABBA order after idle checks. Observed baseline → candidate medians: fit 70.98 → 70.38 ms; background pan refresh 72.09 → 71.03 ms; 400% zoom 23.69 → 23.13 ms. Over-budget rows occurred in these paired runs: render: 400% zoom, 2880×1800. These measurements do not establish statistical significance or continuous native input latency.
Independent review verified the exact final patch/evidence and ran 248 document tests, 1,756 UI tests, formatting, targeted clippy and repository gates.
Tolerant hit-test reach still includes the retained bitmap; this existing behavior remains a follow-up outside the editing-bounds/highlights fix.
Rotated Shaper-group bounds now follow the same source-exclusion rule as geometric/visual bounds. This consistency change has no dedicated Shaper regression in this PR.
The roadmap follow-up places the trace note under Image Trace and restores an escaped Graphs label pipe. All ten gates were rerun on the final tree. Native/performance evidence remains the prior execution on identical production/test blobs; no new runtime measurement is claimed for this documentation-only delta.
