Why is the promoted Vue template not using Vite?

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

I'm a bit annoyed that the Vue 3 template promoted under "Popular" and "Frontend" is still using the old setup with @vue/cli-service. The official recommendation is to use Vite, meaning the templates vue or vue-ts listed under the "Vite" category.
I noticed that many people just go with the promoted template and therefore end up with the old setup.

Describe the solution you'd like

Remove the old template, or update it to the new setup.
