Huawei P40 Pro Disconnects from 5G SA Network After a Couple Seconds of Internet Connection #73

Dear All, May you kindly assist with diagnosing the root cause of our 5G testbed instability. Our setup is as follows:
Our issue: When connecting the UE (Huawei P40 Pro), the network is able to establish a PDU session and an Internet connection. Unfortunately, the phone is disconnected after a couple of minutes (sometimes seconds) of Internet browsing. We have tried debugging the issue as follows:

Hey, your RF conditions aren't ideal. You have to tweak your Rx/Tx gains. Note that the B200 and X300 need very different gain settings. I suggest you stick with one device, optimize that and then use the other. Please also follow our COTS UE appnote. When you send logs again, please set the |

in your pcap (I cannot parse it but I checked the hexstring) I see two PDU
requests: ims and internet. If the Huawei P40 does not get an ims PDU
session it will disconnect after a few seconds (at least ours).

@Lusani1 this also happens with Google Pixel 6 and is related to missing IMS. A quick workaround without the need to setup IMS is here: #100 (comment)
