In practice, the associations code always bounced to main anyways.
This lets us clean up a bunch of internal code by marking it @mainactor
This is nominally a breaking change, so it implies a major version change.
As that's the case, I updated the supported OSes to reflect our internal minimums.

To keep the diff minimal, I did not touch linter updates. That was done in #45
