I’m Eric and I’m building Open Source podcast software since 2012. Mainly the Podlove Podcast Publisher for WordPress.

I’ve always looked at this as a hobby. Today, thousands rely on my software. I see it as a responsibility to keep up the maintenance and development. 2012 I was a student. Today I'm a husband and dad with a full-time job. If I want to ensure the longevity of Podlove Publisher etc. I need to earn money from my Open Source work.

Podcasting keeps fascinating me because it’s one of the last bastions of online content publishing without gatekeepers (the other one is email). If you’re following the news then you know some big players are working hard to change that. Now we in the Open Source community need to work even harder to keep podcasting the enclave of freedom that we have now. Open Source Software not only has to survive, it needs to get better and easier to use.

I’m here to do my part.
