The Scientific system currently is a closed system. This ensures that all scientific units are correctly interoperable and allows for serialization. However it may be limiting when additional units are required.

The scientific unit system should therefore be extended with a customizable PhysicalQuantity. This quantity should allow for units to be added to other quantities as well as define new quantities, either by declaring fully new ones or by combining existing units to form new units
