Add field to store POI opening hours information (e.g. openingHours)

While developing an application that processes entities stored as PointOfInterest, we noticed that there is currently no standard field for storing the operating hours of a POI.

Our application focuses on displaying relevant information about each POI — and one particularly useful piece of information is its schedule (i.e., when it’s open to the public).

At the moment, we are using a custom field called Calendar to store this information, but we believe it would be more appropriate and interoperable to adopt a standard field such as openingHours — similar to what is already used in the Event data model.

Would it be possible to include an optional openingHours field in the PointOfInterest data model?

yes certainly it is possible if you show a use case where you are using. There are two attributes coming from schema.org for allocating this type of information, openinghours and openinghoursspecification. Check the Store data model in the same subject, it has both https://github.com/smart-data-models/dataModel.PointOfInterest/blob/master/Store/doc/spec.md

I believe it would make sense to include both openingHours and openingHoursSpecification, since the Beach, Museum, and Store data models already include them.

1. extending the schema with the new attribute (copy what is in the similar data models)
2. complete the different formats of the examples
3. extend the adopters.yaml with your use case and
4. extend the contributors.yaml to include you in the contributors and grant you a certificate of contribution
