hey, i'm skylar 🧌

i like building things that make people happy and i'm hoping to make a positive impact on the world. thanks for stopping by.

what i've been up to lately

  • 🍲 Access to Excess — building a dynamic website for Develop for Good to help a food rescue nonprofit manage volunteers, blog posts, donations, and food donation/pick-up coordination.
  • 🌍 CrowdPMPlatform — working on an open-source platform for crowdsourced air quality monitoring using IoT sensors and map visualizations.
  • 💡 Iris — a CalHacks 12.0 project that won 2nd place on our track! built a multimodal intelligent interface using MediaPipe, OpenCV, Whisper.cpp, Letta and Vosk in 36 hours.
  • 🍰 Cheche's Baked Goods — a simple React + Firebase site i made for a local baker to showcase her work and upload photos.

other stuff

  • 📚 Tarpaulin — a lightweight Flask REST API for course management (similar to Canvas). uses Google Datastore, Cloud Storage, Auth0 and JWT for secure endpoint access.
  • 👐 made a small contribution to OpenMultipleChoice, an open-source education project.
  • ⚙️ some C++ coursework here: CS162 Assignments.
