Silent fail to launch using default dependencies on Arch

install electron29 (or pre-comp electron29-bin) then install caprine.

There are no actual errors or logs provided to indicate the issue. I reported this on the official AUR linked in the readme but it looks dead https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/caprine

I even tried to launch in X11 instead of wayland

I've also tried the latest AppImage, Different message, but still silently fails

had similar error - seems related to the 'hiding of the settings panel'

solved it by using nativefier docker
which basicly does the same thing as caprine without electron29 / 34 issues

did had to pack messenger.com and facebook.com togheter so you can verify the new browser
pull the image into docker:

docker pull nativefier/nativefier

run a container which will create the app:

docker run --rm -v ~/nativefier-app:/target nativefier/nativefier
--icon "/target/app-icon.png"
--name "Facebook"
-p linux -a x64
--single-instance
--internal-urls ".(facebook|messenger).com."
"https://www.messenger.com"
/target/

add an "messenger-icon.png" to the source folder

-- diclaimer - not a dev here - just used chatgpt to learn about the issues and how nativefier works.. but this seems to work to make a standalone 'messenger app' - now experimenting with adding controls to switch between FB and messenger in the standalone version

seems the 'app' can't close normally with dev-tools enabled (by default they are enabled)

adding this flag to disable dev-tools restores the normal closing behaviour

--disable-dev-tools \

Then no dev tools but you can remake the app without disable-dev-tools if you need them them temporarily

Does anyone know where the log files are? I'd like to at least know why it's not launching.
