An extension for powertop

Hello. I want to build a power efficient homelab on talos. To do this I need to build the CONFIG_X86_MSR module for powertop to view c-states.
One of the obstacles is that filter-hardened-check.py requires CONFIG_X86_MSR to be added to IGNORE_VIOLATIONS. Will this be a big problem?

I think enabling access to MSR is a security violation, and it shouldn't be done.

I believe there are other ways to read c-states and processor information in modern Linux (via sysfs).
