Remove dependency on knowing a github account's password

I put this together in a hacky way and people liked it more than I expected, and then I got busy, and long story short the darn thing seems to need a github username and password in the env vars to work properly. 

Somebody needs to figure out why it's depending on those and make it stop. Probably me, but if someone else has time before I do, PRs are welcome!
