What are three most recent SRE/DevOps related technologies/tools that you learned in the last 12months? *

Jenkins,AWS OpsWork, CloudFoundry, Ansible
SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE
What are three dimensions/techniques that can be used for application scalability? Give concrete examples of how you have utilised these techniques. *

Horizontal Scaling, Vertical Scaling and Failover Scaling. We deployed an application in production which was stateless and some state information was stored in in-memory cache (Redis). Applications should be designed in such a way so that they are as stateless as possible. We used a cluster of spot instances to serve heavy traffic on top of elastic load balancer to reduce costs and increase the availability.
What service-discovery mechanisms are available for micro services architectures? Which have you personally worked with? What went well? What did not? *

Netflix Eureka, etcd, Apache Zookeeper. I have not worked with service-discovery architectures.
What distributed datastores have you provisioned and managed? What was the load and quantity of data? *

I have provisioned and managed MongoDb and SQL instances. I have implemented sharding and replication on a mongoDB cluster deployment for data availability . It was a ready intensive database application with around 5-8 I/O per second.
What mechanisms have you used to implement API load balancing, rate throttling, timeouts, and security for microservices? How effective was it? What would you use now for a green field implementation? Why? *

Horizontal Scaling, AWS API Gateway, custom API gateway, Oauth, Security Token Service with expiry timeout, Sliding Windows, ALB,
How does system spare capacity relate to high-availability? How have you allocated spare capacity in systems you have managed? *

More memory more connections , equal memory allocation and ebs volumes
What techniques/designs have you used to implement system failure domains? How can those techniques help with application upgrades as well? *

Route 53 Failover primary and secondary domains
MONITORING
What monitoring technologies are available for capturing and analyzing application metrics? Which have you used personally? Why that one and not others? *

Dynatrace,Nagios, ElasticSearch
What are some of the challenges in monitoring microservices? How have you specifically addressed these? *
Your answer

What are some fundamental differences between a monitoring system like Nagios andPrometheus? How would you compare Nagios vs Sensu? Prometheus vs ElasticBeats vs statsd/collectd? *
Your answer

What are the key application metrics to monitor for REST API services? How have you personally implemented this? What actions have you taken based on the measured values? *
Your answer

What are the key application metrics to monitor for stream processing services? How have you personally implemented this? What actions have you taken based on the measured values? *
Your answer

How have you implemented log collection and analytics? What systems/applications do you collect logs from? What has been the ingest rate on some of the system you have managed? *
Your answer

How have you integrated log analytics and application metrics? What problems did that solve that either alone did not? What would you do differently next time? *
Your answer

DEV OPS
How have you personally implemented continuous delivery? What would you do different the next time? *
Your answer

What are the challenges related to application upgrades? How is that affected by a microservice architecture? *
Your answer

What technologies have you used in implementing "infrastructure as code"? How far were you able to take this? What would you now do differently? *

Ansible Playbook
What do you believe is the development team's role in managing production systems? Why? What has been your experience related to this in past projects? *

Development team should also be aware of the services and architecture so that they can design
