+Horizontal Scaling, Vertical Scaling and Failover Scaling. We deployed an application in production which was stateless and some state information was stored in in-memory cache (Redis). Applications should be designed in such a way so that they are as stateless as possible. We used a cluster of spot instances to serve heavy traffic on top of elastic load balancer to reduce costs and increase the availability.
