Migrating from Overseerr doesnt work

Hi

I have overseerr full configured and has been working for a long time.
I dont know if its just me but I find page confusing on https://docs.seerr.dev/migration-guide

it doesnt seem to explain what to do.
I use docker and thought it would be a case of using the new compose provided on the above mentioned page.
I pointed the config to the same volume as overseerr was using (set the permissions too)
Its a Dell Poweredge server with Debian Bookworm installed.

But all I get in the output is

It seems to want me to register again and go through the setup.
I assumed it would detect the old volume and run a migration

Please show your compose. Migration does work but your mount is invalid. Thats the issue

You either have your container internal path wrong or your host path has 1 more folder to recurse into (im noticing this is common when migrating from third party overseerr images)

Hmm it seems to be using its own config folder and not the one mounted which is why it seems like migration didnt work (but in reality it didnt even map. Some docker weirdery is going on here).

Can you do docker inspect seerr and send output

Oh i know what happened. You're not using the same volume. When you setup volumes like that as you did in seerr compose it creates a scoped volume. So you're now mounting to seerr_overseerr_config. Not the actual overseerr config you used with overseerr. External volumes must be defined as

volumes:
   overseerr_config:
         external: true

But that is if overseerr_config is also not scoped. If its not the above should be at rhe bottom of your compose. Without external true it will create a scoped new volume.

Can you run docker volume ls | grep -i overseerr
