• http://packetstorm.linuxsecurity.com is dead (they must have moved it or something)
• Scapy installation on OpenBSD 3.8 howto was removed
• DNS now has the dns_compress method
• LinkLayers have been greatly improved
• @thepacketgeek 's tutorial is great and mostly up to date. I'll probably comment on the blog (they are a few outdated things)

  You are missing the quotes when setting/using the interfaces name: conf.iface=en3 should be conf.iface='en3'. They are a few other cases in the same page

  It would be great if you could also recommend to use the new explore() function, which might be clearer when the objective is to list all available packet layers (however ls() is still the way to go to list a Packet’s fields, or search a layer by name...)

  Please do not use eval() and command() that way, command() should only be used to share a packet example, not to copy a packet. Sometimes, command() returns a packet that can’t be built that way. You should rather use pkt = pkts[0].copy() or pkt = Ether(bytes(pkts[0])). Also please note that fields that are manually set/copied won’t be automatically updated. In your section Let’s create our ARP packet and start assigning some values. ...., it’s a bad practice to copy a packet to start from. You should rather create one pkt=Ether()/IP()/ARP() and edit the fields. This will allow all checksums to be recompiled, which doesn’t happen on a copied packet, as they are already set

  Optional: Two other Scapy functions... we actually also have srpflood which floods requests, but that’s not a common usage to its fine to omit it
