Invisible textures

Testing it on the DoGz server, some textures become invisible, acting like a wall hack.

This typically happens because another map you have extracted uses the same texture/model name(s) as another map. This script simply extracts the packed data from all map files (bsp) and combines them. If you have two or more maps that use the same data, then the last map extracted will overwrite any existing data with the same name(s). This means there isn't any way to guarantee that each map can use that exact data packed into it. This usually isn't a problem, but there are edge cases like this where issues can arise. As far as I am aware, there isn't a way to parse map data into map-specific pathing to avoid this problem. A post on Valve's issue tracker expands further on what can cause this to happen.

You might try to put the map(s) you are seeing with this problem into the bsp folder in the folder where you have this script saved, then run the script in manual mode to extract the files. Just answer "N" to the Attempt to auto-detect game folders/maps? [Y/n] prompt. Once the script is finished, navigate to the fix folder, and simply copy that data into your desired game download folder and overwrite any existing files Lastly, re-launch your game and load the map locally via console to see if that corrected the problem for your map(s) before joining a server. The downside here, though, is that other maps that depend on the same data files might have the same problem.

This workaround isn't a perfect solution and can only do so much to workaround this case folding problem, unfortunately. The best course of action is for Valve to address and correct the actual problems within the latest game updates for us, which hopefully they have on their radar.
