This got introduced, because we no longer check in Scala Next. I added an additional check in metals to make sure this doesn't happen anymore.

I ported a change from the next branch, which no longer checks for JDK 8 compatibility. Fxiing it also inhttps://github.com/scalameta/metals/pull/7833
