Allows using %(releaseMajor), %(releaseMinor), and %(releaseMajorMinor) in the repository URL, which, for example, with release 4.6.0.x will be interpolated to 4, 6, and 4.6 respectively.

For release version X.Y.Z.N adds repo variables releaseMajor = X,
releaseMinor = Y, and releaseMajorMinor = X.Y. If release is something
like "latest", without ".", then releaseMinor is empty.

This allows having repository URLs independent of the patch or bugfix
releases.
