Feature Request: Make use of Vim 8 features.

Now with the release of Vim 8.0, there are plenty of features available to improve the plugin, such as asynchronous IO.

If it comes to async jobs support, Neomake is the way to go IMO. It already has a working support for Rust. As to the other Vim 8 features to use, please be more specific as what you're proposing.

If this feature request is all about async IO, there is no need to make changes. IMO, this rust.vim plugin should mainly focus on syntax highlighting, indenting, folding, and formating since asynchronous linting and building can be well achieved by external plugins like https://github.com/w0rp/ale

In relation to async IO. I think both of these are bad suggestions. rust.vim already requires multiple external plugins, and neither of the ones suggested actually replace the already existing synchronous :Rust* commands. Anecdotally I have seen a lot of people on IRC trying to setup rust.vim and getting swamped under the amount of work just to get all the features working, adding an additional step only makes the setup process more frustrating.

Even with Vim 8 async capability, managing async jobs is a lot of work - I think that the leading external plugins - ale, neomake, and the RLS cliens are managing to extend Rust support quite nicely on their own - I'd rather help maintain them than to duplicate their work.

I do suggest however, that to assist people setting up Vim for Rust, rust.vim's outdated README.md should be overhauled, plus along with some other fixes. We can preserve the flexibility of setup and plugin choice, while recommending a 'quick start' example for having it working correctly from day 0.
